Glossary

PPM (Points Per Million)
A measure of efficiency in MLS — how many points a team earned for every $1 million spent on payroll. Higher means more efficient spending.
Payroll
The total amount a team spends on player salaries in a season.
Points
Teams earn 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 for a loss. Total points determine league standings.
Goal Difference (GD)
Goals scored minus goals allowed. Used as a tiebreaker when two teams have equal points.
Relegation
In the Premier League, the bottom 3 teams at the end of the season are dropped down to the Championship league.
GP (Games Played)
The total number of matches a team has played in the season so far.
